Mario and Luigi Stay Neck and Neck—but Peach’s Gain Brings the Best News

Bella’s Triplets Are Eight Days Old: Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach Get a New Weigh-In
How much can three baby goats change in less than a week? Katie brought out the scale to find out.
Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach were eight days old in her latest update. Katie had weighed them when they were about two days old, and she wanted to see what had happened since. The boys had been nursing eagerly from Bella. Peach had recently begun taking bottles because Katie noticed she was not getting as much milk or gaining as quickly.

In the days leading up to the weigh-in, Katie had watched Peach try to stay with her mother and brothers while struggling to get the same access to Bella’s milk. Katie began offering bottles and brought Peach inside at night, then let her rejoin the goats during the day. Peach could run and play with Mario and Luigi, but Katie still wanted to check how she was growing.
The results showed that all three triplets had gained weight. Mario and Luigi had both made substantial gains and were still separated by the same three ounces as before. Peach remained the smallest, but her weight had risen too. Katie was pleased with that progress and planned to keep watching her as the bottle routine improved.
Kid Around two days old At eight days old Gain
Mario 4 lb 6 lb 10 oz 2 lb 10 oz
Luigi 4 lb 3 oz 6 lb 13 oz 2 lb 10 oz
Princess Peach 3 lb 8 oz 5 lb 1 lb 8 oz

Mario Sets the First Mark
Mario went onto the scale first. When Katie last weighed him, at about two days old, he was exactly four pounds. This time, she could tell from holding him that the number would be higher.
He weighed six pounds, ten ounces.
Katie called him a chunky boy, clearly impressed by the change. Mario had gained two pounds, ten ounces since the earlier weigh-in. Katie connected his growth with the feeding pattern she had been watching: Bella was letting the boys nurse, and they were making full use of that opportunity.
Mario seemed comfortable in the bag Katie used during the weighing. She laughed at the sight of the little goat resting in it as she read the scale. Once she had his result, she set him down and went looking for his brother.
Would Mario now be the heavier boy, or would Luigi keep the lead he held at their first weigh-in?
Luigi Keeps His Three-Ounce Lead
Luigi had been the largest of the triplets at the earlier check, weighing four pounds, three ounces. Katie found him and apologized for interrupting his rest so she could weigh him.
Like Mario, Luigi looked bigger to her. Katie called him thick and dense as she got him onto the scale. His new weight was six pounds, thirteen ounces.
That left Luigi exactly three ounces ahead of Mario, the same margin he had held when they were two days old. Their gains were identical as well: each boy had added two pounds, ten ounces between the checks.
The numbers made Katie laugh about how much they had been eating. The boys have been vigorous nursers, a detail she has mentioned while explaining why feeding time has been harder for their sister. Their growth gave her a clear measure of what she had been seeing.
Mario and Luigi were growing in parallel, each at his own starting size. For viewers curious about which boy was heavier, Luigi kept the lead for another day.
Around the barn, the other goats made sure Katie’s attention did not stay entirely on the scale. Clover wanted to climb on her and seemed, in Katie’s joking interpretation, determined to remain the baby forever. Bella appeared nearby too, becoming part of the scene as Katie worked through the triplets one at a time.
Princess Peach Has Gained Weight, Too
Peach was the weigh-in Katie had the most reason to watch closely. At the first check, she weighed three pounds, eight ounces. She had been the smallest of the three from the start.
Katie said Peach spent roughly her first four or five days with Bella before she noticed that the little girl was not getting as much milk as her brothers. For the past couple of days, Katie had been bottle-feeding her. The change was still new, and Peach had not immediately taken to the bottle.
Before seeing the result, Katie guessed that Peach would be somewhere in the upper four-pound range, perhaps close to five. Then the scale presented a small technical problem: the weighing bag had not been zeroed out. Katie knew the bag weighed five ounces, so she deducted that amount from the displayed reading.
Peach weighed five pounds exactly.
That meant she had gained one pound, eight ounces since the earlier check. Katie was glad to see the number rise. Peach had not matched the boys’ gains, which reinforced why Katie had stepped in to help with feeding, but the result showed that the little girl had been growing.
Katie also shared an encouraging development from that day. Peach had begun accepting bottles more often and was suckling much better. Katie plans to keep weighing her to see how she does as those feeds continue.
The timing matters. Peach had only begun letting Katie feed her more often that day, so the five-pound reading came just as the new routine was improving. Another weigh-in will show how her weight changes from here. For now, Katie could be glad Peach had gained while still paying attention to the gap between her and the boys.
What the Numbers Show—and What Comes Next
Mario and Luigi each gained two pounds, ten ounces. Peach gained one pound, eight ounces. All three triplets weighed more at eight days old than they had at about two days old.
Peach had always been the smallest. Katie’s concern was that Bella’s response at feeding time left her with fewer chances to eat than Mario and Luigi. Her slower gain, together with what Katie had observed, explained why she began offering bottles and planned to keep checking her progress.
Peach is still the sweet, active little sister viewers have watched play outside. Earlier updates showed her climbing and spending time with her brothers even as Katie worked on a new feeding routine. The scale added something playtime alone could not show: how her weight had changed while the boys were growing so quickly.
Katie did not announce a target weight for the next check or claim that today’s result settled every concern. She said she would keep a close eye on Peach’s gain and make sure she was getting what she needed. Future weigh-ins will help her see how the little girl does now that she is taking bottles more readily.
For Mario and Luigi, the day ended with new numbers and the same order on the scale. Mario stood at six pounds, ten ounces; Luigi at six pounds, thirteen. Their nearly matched growth gave Katie a reason to smile, even if picking up the increasingly chunky boys is becoming a bigger job.
For Peach, five pounds marked progress of her own. She is still smaller than her brothers, and Katie is still helping her feed. She has gained weight, and on the day of the weigh-in, she began suckling from the bottle more effectively.
The triplets are only eight days into their story. Katie plans to weigh them again and find out how each little goat grows from here.
What are you hoping to see in Princess Peach’s next update: another weight check, more confident bottle-feeding, or playtime with Mario and Luigi?
