Grass as Tall as the Babies: Bella’s Triplets Step Outside for a Sunny First Adventure
Bella had spent enough time looking out the window.
With her three newborn babies nearby, she seemed increasingly eager to get outside. Katie had noticed her watching the world beyond the stall and decided it might be time for a carefully supervised introduction to the rest of the group.
Usually, Katie said, she would wait a couple of days. But Bella was becoming restless, and Katie wanted to see how everyone would behave while she was there to watch closely.
For the triplets, it would be a day of unfamiliar sights, sounds, and sunshine.
For Bella, it was the opportunity she had apparently been waiting for.
Katie opened the way, and Bella headed out with the enthusiasm of a mother ready for a change of scenery.

The babies were less certain.
Two of them were tucked beneath the hay manger, showing little interest in following their mother into the wider world. While Bella was ready to rejoin familiar company, her newborns seemed quite content with their hiding place.
Katie watched the other goats, too.
Her main concern was Blossom, who she thought might become a little too interested in the tiny arrivals. Blossom already had her own baby, Clover, but Katie joked that she still had “baby fever.”
The question was whether that curiosity would lead her to crowd Bella or the triplets.
At first, however, the group gave Katie an encouraging answer.
Nobody was barging into the babies’ space.
The others watched, and Katie kept checking their reactions. She playfully asked some of the older youngsters what they thought about the newcomers. After spending their lives as the babies themselves, they now had even smaller companions to consider.
Would they be willing to share their favorite chair?
It was one of those affectionate questions that made the outing feel like a family introduction, complete with curious onlookers and uncertain first impressions.
Bella’s triplets still needed help joining the gathering.
“I would just prefer they meet everybody while I’m here,” Katie explained.
She wanted to be close enough to intervene and put the babies away if any aggression appeared. Her decision was about watching this particular group together and responding to what she saw.
When the newborns continued hanging back, she brought them outside herself.
“Mother, your babies are here,” she called to Bella.
And suddenly, the little family had a whole new setting.
There was sunshine overhead and grass all around them—grass so tall that Bella’s tiny daughter could barely see over it.
Katie was immediately captivated.
Inside the stall, the babies had already given her plenty to admire. Outside, the sunlight revealed their coats differently, bringing out the colors and markings of the boys.
One little son received a particularly enthusiastic compliment.
“Even in the light, you look even more gorgeous,” Katie told him.
Then her attention returned to their sister, standing amid the tall grass.
The little girl who had needed encouragement during an earlier outing was now surrounded by a much bigger world. Katie spoke to her gently, imagining how many new things she was taking in.
There were sounds to notice, light falling across her coat, and grass rising around her small body.
“You’re gonna love it out here,” Katie said.

For people who had followed the long wait for Bella’s babies, the scene offered a lovely change. The questions about when they would arrive and how many there would be had given way to watching three individual newborns experience their surroundings.
Even the ordinary interruptions were part of the charm.
One baby promptly stopped to pee, earning a familiar observation from Katie about what seems to happen as soon as the animals come outside.
Nearby, Matt was receiving plenty of attention from the little ones. Katie mentioned that he had already been pooped on that day—a less glamorous part of spending time with newborn animals.
There were cameras, too.
Katie said they were making a YouTube video and sounded especially excited about seeing close-up footage of Bella’s daughter in the grass. The outing was providing plenty of moments worth capturing.
Through all that activity, she continued watching the introductions.
To her surprise, the other goats were largely leaving the babies alone. Even Blossom, the one she had been most concerned about, was keeping her distance.
“They’re watching respectfully from the side,” Katie observed.
Bella also returned her attention to her offspring, prompting Katie to comment on Mama checking back in with her little family.
By the end of the update, the outing had gone more calmly than Katie expected.
The triplets were outside, the group was giving them space, and Katie planned to keep checking on them throughout the day. She also intended to share more glimpses on Snapchat, with a fuller YouTube video to follow.
For now, there was a simple scene to enjoy: Bella outdoors with her babies, two beautifully marked boys in the sunshine, and one tiny daughter standing in grass taller than she was.
After so much anticipation, the family was beginning to make memories beyond the stall.
Which moment would you most want to see up close—the boys’ colors in the sunlight or Bella’s little girl peeking through the grass?
