“I Just Shook Hands With One of Them”: Bella’s Baby Watch Gets a Moment Katie Won’t Forget
Katie was trying very hard to stop making predictions about Bella.
After weeks of watching the pregnant goat for changes and wondering whether her babies would arrive soon, she had decided to be a little more cautious. Every promising sign seemed to lead to another evening of waiting, and Bella continued moving through the days on her own schedule.
So this update began with a playful disclaimer. If Bella happened to be getting closer, and if her udder happened to look fuller, Katie was simply going to keep her opinions to herself.
That resolve lasted until she felt something extraordinary.
With her hand against Bella’s belly, Katie said she could feel what seemed to be a tiny hoof pressing beneath the surface.

“I’m literally touching a baby right here,” she exclaimed.
For a moment, all the uncertainty of baby watch gave way to excitement. One of the little lives everyone had been waiting to meet suddenly felt wonderfully close.
Katie could not yet see the baby’s face or know which kid she was feeling. But she was already curious about its personality. With affectionate humor, she decided this particular little one must be a troublemaker.
By the end of the update, she had found the perfect way to describe the encounter: “I just shook hands with one of them.”
It was a small moment, but it gave this long wait something special.
For weeks, Bella’s pregnancy had been a story of watching and wondering. Was her body changing? Was her udder getting bigger? Would tonight finally be the night?
Now there was a new memory to carry into the waiting: Katie’s hand resting against Bella, feeling what she believed was one of the babies beneath it.
Her excitement did not answer every question. Feeling one kid did not reveal how many Bella was carrying, although Katie joked that there seemed to be plenty of room for more. The number of babies remained unknown in this update.
Still, it was easy to understand why she wanted to meet that little one so badly.
Before any introductions could happen, however, there was the practical business of getting Bella settled for the night.
Katie was handling the evening routine on her own. To make moving Bella into her stall easier, she had temporarily kept some of the other animals in the area she called the “kitten castle.”
They were unimpressed with the arrangement.
As they protested, Katie reassured them and joked that they were suffering from fear of missing out. Meanwhile, Bella needed a little encouragement to head toward the correct doorway.
Katie offered a persuasive list of benefits: her own alfalfa, her own grain, and a comfortable place to spend the night.
The exchange brought some familiar farm humor into the update. Even with everyone eagerly anticipating new babies, doors still needed managing, feed still needed distributing, and the expectant mother still had to cooperate.
Once Bella was settled, Katie showed viewers her nighttime setup.
There was water available, fresh alfalfa, and a fan that felt especially pleasant now that the temperature had come down. Katie planned to offer a little more grain, although Bella had not been particularly interested in it lately.
She was still eating, something Katie pointed out toward the end of the video.
The other animals received their small evening servings, too, helping restore peace after the earlier complaints. With everyone fed and Bella in her space, Katie could continue watching her through the cameras overnight.
The routine was familiar by now, but the question remained just as tempting.
Was this finally the night?
Katie’s own answer was a laughing, uncertain prediction that they might still have another week of waiting. After so many evenings of anticipation, she was clearly reluctant to promise anything.
She explained that Bella was 155 days past her first exposure to the buck. That was a reference point rather than a confirmed conception date. If breeding and conception had happened a few days later, Katie estimated that Bella might be closer to 152 or 153 days along.
The timing still held some uncertainty, and the update did not establish that Bella was in active labor.
Katie had noticed changes, including an udder that appeared fuller to her, but she also acknowledged how difficult those differences could be to show on camera. People watching a short clip might not see exactly what she could see while standing beside Bella.
For the moment, the plan was to keep watching.
Katie also explained how she would share future news. Subscribers would receive the first look, with updates posted publicly afterward. She had been sharing small glimpses of the camera footage on Snapchat as well, allowing followers to join in the anticipation.
There were still no newborns to introduce at the end of this particular evening.
Bella had her food, water, and nighttime space. Katie had the cameras to help her keep watch. Everyone following along had another reason to wonder what the next update might bring.
And Katie had something she had not expected when she began filming: the feeling of a tiny hoof beneath her hand and a new curiosity about the baby it belonged to.
Whenever Bella’s kids finally arrived, one question would be waiting alongside all the excitement.
Which little one had already said hello?
