Bella’s Baby Watch Continues: Katie Cancels Her Trip as an Evening Storm Approaches
Katie’s latest attempt to give Bella some peace and privacy does not go quite as planned. After watching the pregnant goat spend time alone beneath a tree, Katie closes a gate to separate her from the others. Bella has been lying down, pawing, and looking uncomfortable enough that Katie wonders whether the long-awaited babies might finally be on their way.
Then Bella changes the arrangement.
Rather than settling into her private space, she returns to the gate, apparently wanting access to the rest of the herd. Katie jokingly interprets the request as Bella deciding she would prefer an audience after all.
It is a familiar turn in a pregnancy watch filled with hopeful observations and uncertain timing. Katie keeps adjusting her plans around Bella, while Bella continues doing things her own way. This time, however, the update brings a definite change beyond the pasture: Katie has canceled her trip.
For now, she is staying home, watching closely, and preparing for another night of waiting.

Earlier in the day, Bella’s behavior had seemed especially worth watching. Katie says the goat had been resting near her tree, away from the others, in a way that looked like nesting to her.
At one point, Bella was lying flat out and grunting. Katie had recorded the scene for Snapchat and says it looked as though a kid could arrive at any moment.
That impression prompted her to offer Bella some space. If the goat had chosen a quiet spot away from the group, closing the gate seemed like a way to preserve that privacy.
But the arrangement did not last. Bella’s interest shifted toward the closed gate, leaving Katie to reconsider what her expectant goat actually wanted.
The exchange captures the uncertainty of the evening. Katie is responding to what she sees, trying to make Bella comfortable, and discovering that the goat’s preferences are not always easy to predict.
The private corner also presents another concern: rain is on the way.
Although the sunset is beautiful, Katie knows the evening weather is expected to change. She does not want Bella giving birth outside in the rain, especially after spending so much time watching for the arrival.
That makes bringing her inside the next priority.
Katie describes the scene with a mixture of appreciation and exasperation. The sky provides a lovely backdrop, but Bella’s timing remains the unanswered question beneath it all. A peaceful outdoor moment could become a much more complicated situation if the weather turns and the babies arrive.
Rather than leave that possibility unresolved, Katie gets the animals moving and brings Bella in.
The move goes well enough that Katie is proud of having managed it herself. Unfortunately, the footage does not survive.
She explains that approximately two minutes of video showing the animals following her, with the sunset behind them, has disappeared. The missing clip included her successfully getting Bella inside on her own.
It is a small disappointment, but one she returns to during the update. After the effort of organizing the animals and capturing a particularly pretty moment, losing the recording is frustrating.
The work itself is still done. Bella is inside, and Katie can turn her attention to the evening routine. Followers simply miss the part that would have shown how she accomplished it.
Once the animals are in, Katie gives them a very small amount of grain.
She explains that she wants them to keep coming when she calls. The little reward is part of maintaining that familiar routine, making this successful move useful beyond the immediate evening.
Bella also gets some alfalfa. Katie connects that choice with supporting her as she prepares to feed her babies.
The feeding moment brings a practical pause to an update otherwise dominated by anticipation. There are animals to settle, food to distribute, and ordinary tasks to finish, even while Katie keeps wondering whether something more eventful is about to happen.
Bella, meanwhile, remains interested in eating.
That appetite becomes another point of discussion as Katie considers which observations might actually tell her anything about the timing of the birth.
Katie does not think Bella’s enthusiasm for food is a particularly useful clue in her case. In her affectionate assessment, Bella is likely to keep eating regardless.
The remark reflects how closely Katie has been watching the same goat over a prolonged period. She is weighing the details against Bella’s familiar habits rather than treating every action as a new development.
Some things look different. Others are simply Bella being Bella.
That distinction is becoming harder to make with confidence after so many moments that have seemed promising. Katie has watched, wondered, and expected news before, only to find herself still waiting the following day.
By this evening, she is candid about how uncertain she feels.
The biggest personal update is that her trip has now been canceled.
Earlier in the pregnancy watch, travel had been a possibility Katie might have to give up. Here, she confirms that she has made the decision to stay.
Naturally, she turns the frustration into a joke directed at Bella. Now that the trip is canceled, she predicts, Bella will probably wait until Saturday—a point when Katie imagines she could have gone away and returned.
It is an expression of exasperation rather than an actual forecast. Having rearranged her plans, Katie would still appreciate Bella moving things along.
The canceled trip does not resolve the waiting. It simply removes one uncertainty from Katie’s schedule while leaving the central one untouched.
She is home, but there is still no answer about when the kids will arrive.
The situation feels more tiring because Katie is sick, and Jonathan is away for a couple of nights.
She shares both details as part of the reality surrounding this particular check-in. She is not feeling well, she wants sleep, and the evening ahead still involves keeping an eye on Bella.
At the same time, Katie makes clear that she has people on standby.
That support is an important part of the picture. Although she has managed the move inside herself and Jonathan is temporarily away, she has arranged for others to be available.
Her tone combines weariness with continued attention to the task. She may be disappointed about the trip and frustrated by the wait, but she is still observing Bella, settling the animals, and thinking through what the night could bring.
The forecast gives Katie another reason to wonder whether a change might be close.
She says temperatures have been averaging in the 90s, with conditions feeling closer to 100, for weeks. Now, the forecast calls for a high around 80 the following day, followed by temperatures in the 70s.
Together with the approaching storm, that shift feels significant to her.
Katie speculates that the cooler weather and storm might coincide with the development everyone has been waiting for. It is a hopeful thought during an evening already full of close observation, rather than a confirmed indication of when Bella will give birth.
The forecast offers a possible change in the background. Bella’s behavior remains the more immediate focus.
Looking back over the day, Katie says Bella spent considerably more time apart from the herd.
At several points, she was in an entirely different field from the other animals. Katie estimates that she spent much of the day that way, making the separation more noticeable than a brief rest alone.
She also mentions pawing and repeatedly lying flat out.
These observations explain why Katie had been inclined to give her privacy earlier. Taken together, they made the day feel different enough to pay close attention.
Still, Katie is cautious about how much meaning to assign to every detail. Bella has also been panting, but the weather has been hot, and that behavior has been present before.
There is no single moment in this update that settles the question. Instead, Katie has a collection of observations and another evening ahead in which to see what happens.
She even refers back to something she thought she noticed in the previous night’s video, then stops short of building another confident prediction around it.
Her response is refreshingly direct: she is no longer going to pretend she knows.
After days of expecting babies, certainty has become difficult to maintain. What she wants now is simple. She would like Bella to have her kids, and she would like the chance to get some sleep.
The appeal is addressed to Bella with the same conversational affection that runs through these updates. Katie has canceled her plans, brought her inside, and continued watching. She would be grateful if the next step could finally happen.
But the evening closes with the babies still to come.
Bella is indoors ahead of the rain, the herd has had its small reward, and Katie has help available if she needs it. The sunset footage may be gone, but the work of the evening is complete.
What remains is the familiar instruction to stay tuned. Katie is tired, hopeful, and ready for news—and Bella is still keeping the timing to herself.
